Co-founder and president of Capability Building Inc (, a charitable organisation providing support for families and individuals with disability in NE Victoria, and co-founder of EdSpace Specialist School, an independent school for adolescents with disabilities in Benalla Victoria

David has held a wide range of public and private health positions in rural areas in 5 states and territories, interspersed with procedural medical training in major regional and metropolitan hospitals. Public positions included resident and registrar positions in public hospitals, medical officer in an Aboriginal controlled health organization, STI/AIDs control officer in North Queensland, medical officer for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Central Australia, and medical officer on Christmas Island.

He has worked since 1998 as a general practitioner in the rural city of Benalla.

Current interests are in teaching health workers and trainees, advocacy and support for people with disabilities, both adult and child, learning disorders, and promoting coordination between the health and education sectors to promote best outcomes in schools.
