One of the best loved programs on offer at EdSpace is our work with the animals at Benalla Dogs for Life.

It’s well known that dogs can play a significant role when it comes to therapy with their natural ability to promote physical and emotional healing – well we take that a step further by our work with Benalla Dogs for Life.

Our students work with the dogs at Benalla to learn real life skills in care and grooming along with understanding the importance of responsible pet ownership. The program is carefully put together with a series of structured interactions, each aimed to develop a specific skill set- from social skills to confidence, through to self-esteem and motivation and it’s a big hit with our students, but don’t just take it from us:

“I like the dog shop. I love learning how to groom the dogs. Animals are my favourite things.”

“I love going out for walks with the dogs, but I don’t enjoy picking up their mess!”
